MEDIATION SERVICES

Mediation is a voluntary process whereby the parties, with the help of a mediator, conduct negotiations to reach agreements on as many issues as possible in regards to their divorce, separation, custody, and parenting time matters. Kristin L. Davis is a qualified mediator who provides objective, neutral, and impartial facilitation through their negotiations. Ms. Davis’ only objective is to try to help parties reach agreements that they can move forward with in their lives. Mediation allows parties, with or without attorneys, to have control over their family law matters, and help both parties achieve workable, fair, and affordable solutions. Though Ms. Davis is also an attorney, her role as a mediator is not to give legal advice, but rather, help the parties achieve results in a neutral manner.

If parties have attorneys representing them, please have your attorney contact our firm to schedule. No one-half hour initial consult is needed if parties have attorneys.

If parties are representing themselves, please book a mediation session online through our website or call our office to make an appointment. Mediation sessions are scheduled for three hours. The first 15 minutes of the mediation session will be for both parties to meet with Ms. Davis together, review the mediation process, what to expect, and be able to answer any questions that either party may have. The first 15 minutes are free and will not be charged to the parties.

Both parties will have to pay one-half of Ms. Davis’ fees for mediation, which includes an hourly rate for the session plus a one-time additional fee of $100, which covers the costs of drafting the agreements of the parties that will be emailed to both parties post-mediation session. Mediation fees must be paid at the conclusion of the mediation session.

Divorce mediation topics can include, but are not limited to, property and debt division, spousal maintenance, child support, custody, parenting time, and other parenting agreements.

Custody mediation (for parents who were never married) can include, but are not limited to, child custody, parenting time, child support, income tax dependency exemptions, and other parenting and/or child expense issues.

Post-decree mediation topics can include issues that have arisen after a court order is in place, such as financial, custody, or parenting time issues.
